newbies

Happy Saturday everyone! :) It's a very rainy day here in Brisbane..perfect for crafting & drinking hot tea. I just wanted to share some new fabric buttons I made this morning with help from Felix. And by 'help' I mean him saying 'ooh pretty!' & trying to grab everything hehe. I'm working on some new creations for our stall tomorrow. Fingers crossed the rain passes!

These are my favourites, little mushrooms & piggies...

Lovely florals & sweet polka dots...

Buttons = LOVE.

All of these are going to be turned into sweet little clippies :)

Some hair ties, the babushkas are quite popular...

Thanks for stopping by :) What are you up to today...making something special, Christmas shopping perhaps? Or are you like me & leave it until the last minute :)

my creative space...

After suffering a very long period of no motivation, I feel creative and inspired. This is probably due to finally feeling like a normal human being again, after an exhaustion-filled first 17 weeks of pregnancy. I've actually been excited to sit at my craft desk, so I thought I'd share what I'm working on at the moment....

Fabric covered buttons for earrings, rings and clips. My favourite are the satin and lace versions, which eventually turn into these:

These are available in our MadeIt shop :)
Pop on over to Kootoyoo for more interesting creative spaces.

flea market finds!

After many, many months of reading Sophie's blog 'Her Library Adventures', we're finally taking the plunge and joining in on her 'Flea Market Finds' :)
Op shopping/flea marketing is one of our absolute favourite things to do. Not only does it inspire & motivate us to make new creations, but we get to find amazing goodies...some days more so than others.
Today I (Krystal) would like to share with you all some treasures I've discovered the past couple of weeks...

Uber sweet vintage buttons. They were all in a jar & had no price, I asked the shop lady & she said $3!! I was stoked! I cant wait to use these in some upcoming projects. Pretty plate they are on i found months ago, cant remember where though.

Excuse the lack of ironing, but i was taking photos on limited time whilst Felix was eating his lunch. This is a scarf i picked up at my local Salvos for 50cents. I'm planning on either framing it, or popping it on a canvas. The words are so, so cute!

Left pic: Some lovely coloured necklaces, pretty doiley, and a cute ceramic elephant money box. I seem to be collecting ceramic ornaments similar to this little one lately.
Right pic: Mustard yellow vase & a blue scalloped ceramic container. This is my most favourite find of the year so far i believe. I'm still unsure as to what I'm going to use it for though...jewellery, cookies, buttons?

Pop by Sophie's for more lovely Flea Market Finds :)

krystals studio

A peak at my oh so cluttered, yet organized, craft room :)

Some of my button, ribbon & fabric collection. My 'inspiration' wall in the corner, featuring random frames of cuteness ive spotted on my op shop journeys.

A close up of my inspiration wall. The deer embroidery down the bottom right says "Love smiles its own joy and gladness" ...it's one of my favourite 'deer' things i own :)

And here you can see my little workspace. It may look messy, but it isnt too bad. This was taken when i was preparing for a market stall, so its not as neat as usual. Everything has its place, and as long as i know where it is, that's all that matters hehe.

What does your workspace/office/studio/craft room look like? Are you a very organized person, or the total opposite? Id love to hear from you all! :)

op shop finds [28.07.10] pic heavy

Yesterday i went op shopping. T'was quite the successful day, found lots of goodies! Piccies below...

I love the covers of these books! I most likely wont read them, just take photos of them :p

This is basically brand new! I love the pastel pink colour.

Retro-looking coasters.

Some awesome buttons from Voodoo Rabbit, love them!

..and some more!

These buttons are very, very special. I discovered a new little store that has a WHOLE room dedicated to their vintage button collection. I almost passed out when i walked in. These are the small few i picked out of the thousands upon thousands they had there. So precious!!

"Umm this isn't cat food...." (this is our cat, Lilu...i haven't shown a pic of her on our blog before hehe)

Pretty little frame & cute fabric.
I'm not 100% sure, but i think this is called a 'train case.' I don't care what it's called to be honest, i loooove it. I can't wait to clean it up & use it for something special :)
Lilu checking it out...

Adorable deer cross stitch!!

One can never have enough cuteness in their kitchen!
Andddd...last but most definitely not least, my most favourite find of the day.....mother & daughter deer ornament....it melts my heart <333
Sitting next to our Felix & Lily Handmade Wearables 'mascot' deer....which is yet to be named. What do you think we should call her?

Thank you for looking!
